Q:I had treatment for breast cancer many years ago, but i”m still struggling to cope emotionally. Can I still get help?
A: Adjusting to life after breast cancer can take a long time, and for some people the need for support continues long after treatment has finished. People think they should be able to move on with their life as soon as hospital treatment has finished and often put on a brave face for family and friends. As times goes on, it can become more difficult to ask for help.
There’s no time limit on getting hep with how you’re feeling, and it’s OK to ask for help whenever you feel you need it. Calling helpline, posting on online forum, or talking to someone who has been there can help, You can also talk to your GP about how you are feeling. They may be able to help and can also refer you to a counsellor or psychologist for further support.
