{"id":31629,"date":"2017-04-25T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2017-04-24T15:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/rftcjapan.org\/uncategorized\/event-report-cftc-2016\/"},"modified":"2017-04-25T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2017-04-24T15:00:00","slug":"event-report-cftc-2016","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/rftcjapan.org\/en\/news\/event-report-cftc-2016\/","title":{"rendered":"Event Report: Cuisine for the Cure 2016 at the Australian Embassy Tokyo"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-22164\" src=\"https:\/\/rftcjapan.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/MG_7552.jpg\" alt=\"_mg_7552\" width=\"5760\" height=\"3840\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The third Cuisine for the Cure event was held at the Australian Embassy Tokyo on Thursday evening, October 13th.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The 73 guests enjoyed a delicious Australian sit-down three course dinner prepared by Salt by Luke Mangan. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-22158\" src=\"https:\/\/rftcjapan.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/CFTC-collage3.png\" alt=\"cftc-collage3\" width=\"1365\" height=\"425\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The duet, FluetOboe, provided live musical entertainment, as did WA-GO.jp that performed with a <em>Didgeridoo<\/em>, an Australian aboriginal musical instrument, and the Japanese <em>Tsugaru-jamisen<\/em>. The atmosphere was also filled with lively conversation in a warm inviting setting.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-22156\" src=\"https:\/\/rftcjapan.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/CFTC-collage2.jpg\" alt=\"cftc-collage2\" width=\"1365\" height=\"425\" \/><br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-22155\" src=\"https:\/\/rftcjapan.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/CFTC-collage4.png\" alt=\"cftc-collage4\" width=\"1365\" height=\"425\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">After the dinner, the guests participated in a live auction and raffle with great prizes donated by Run for the Cure\u24c7 Foundation\u2019s generous sponsors.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-22152\" src=\"https:\/\/rftcjapan.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/CFTC-collage1.png\" alt=\"cftc-collage1\" width=\"1365\" height=\"425\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The event raised a total of JPY 1,500,000 million, whose proceeds will go toward supporting the Foundation\u2019s various breast cancer awareness initiatives. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We are grateful to Clare Walsh, The embassy\u2019s Charge D\u2019Affairs, for hosting the event, and to SERVCORP, which was the official sponsor of Cuisine for the Cure.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The support of the community and our enthusiastic volunteers made the evening such a success. <\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The third Cuisine for the Cure event was held at the Australian Embassy Tokyo on Thursday evening, October 13th.
